This blog has been created to capture and disseminate information about Priscilla Wakefeld, the woman, the author and matriach of the wider Wakefield family.

I also hope it will be a gathering space for people who are researching Priscilla as there are a number who are working in different disciplines.

I have included some references to Priscilla’s journals on this blog. This is an important source of information but the location of the original journals is currently unknown. I have managed to find a copy of several years held in the Alexander Turnbull Library in Wellington. I have transcribed 1798 and 1799 and posted them here http://pw1751journal.wordpress.com/

Where available I am also including the relevant extract from her literary journal.
